Symphony Tacoma is fantastic with 'Symphony Fantastique'”

“With Ioanides at the helm, Symphony Tacoma pulled the feat off flawlessly...Through it all, Ioannides used her whole frame to channel the music on the page and to conduct it to the musicians of the orchestra.

Her body, her hands and her facial expressions were constantly in motion, as she transmitted the music to the musicians who in turn brought it to life."

Guest Conductor Shows Off Strengths at Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Concert"

"She led, sans score, a gorgeous rendition of Edward Elgar’s “Enigma” Variations, evoking a fine ensemble performance with several starring solo parts.

Ioannides’...her gestures are expressive and forceful, and there’s no chance the orchestra might misinterpret any of them."

"The Transformational Power of Music" by Sarah Ioannides
Cranleigh Culture Magazine

"I have lived with the pressures of juggling a family life with a career as a conductor, which requires a lot of travel, constant planning and continual flexibility for all involved.

This has been achieved thanks to the support and open-mindedness of many that wished to support our family. Of course some sacrifices have had to be made, but on balance there have been many opportunities.

I have had to be flexible. But throughout my career I will always believe in, and hold at my centre, the power of music.

It is the inspiration of music, its ability to empower and be an expression of our world that gives us belief and hope. It is essential for our planet to have the inspirational gift of live orchestral performance, inspiring community, bringing compassion and the joy of life, and overall bringing people together through music. AND THUS, EX CULTU ROBUR!"   - Sarah Ioannides (Cranleigh School Alumni)
